Well contracted Braille keeps getting more and more challenging as I get deeper into it. This week I learned the contractions for ch, child, th, this, gh, sh, shall, wh and which. I struggled a bit this week but I believe I have commited these contractions to memory and can fully recognize them on paper. I'm working hard to remember all the contractions and know there are many to go yet.
Starting tomorrow (Thursday July 31) my beginning Braille class starts. I have three people signed up so far, with a third starting in late August. I also have two others that are interested in taking the class.
This will be a huge challenge for me but I think I am up to it. I'll let everyone know how week 1 goes and I'll also have my weekly update for week 17 very soon.

Hope your learning braille is continuing. I am a certified literary braille proofreader and that was a difficult mountain to climb. Now, I am beginning the Nemeth Braille Proofreading course, and that looks to be even more difficult. Good luck with your braille endeavors!
Thanks for the comments. I've kind of stopped at the moment but I'll get back to it. You're right it's a huge challenge.
